How to present yourself in court for an eviction.
If you are a LandLord or rental agent, I don't have to tell you that an uncontested eviction is R30 000+ and a contested one can take years and cost more than a R100 000. What if I tell you that an uncontested eviction will cost you only R1200 in sheriff cost. If you do everything yourself.
After doing an eviction course you will learn the different steps of an eviction. You can then decide for yourself what do you want to do, and what to let the lawyer do, if anything. (The procedure of an eviction order is in the above menu)
Why are landlords made so afraid of doing their own evictions:
I am a Landlord who learnt how to evict my own tenants. During my research on the subject I realized that the government gives all assistance to tenants, illegal or not, and none to Landlords what so ever. So don't bother with Legal Aid, UCT Law or Probono.org. You will get no help.
It was this discrimination that inspired me to help other LandLords.
Is a DIY eviction as dauting as what others are going to tell you?
Evictions can be daunting when you need to evict an Elderly person, Disable person, a Mother of house hold , and when children are involved.
Personally I would not rent out to any of the above because the PIE Act protects them to well. If you do, know the risk you take.
Also, if you first took the law into your own hands and now want to swap over to a legal eviction , you have just created a lot of problems for your self. Under the above cases, even a lawyer is at the mercy of the judge. So If the judge favours one of the above tenants, your lawyer while costing you thousand cannot help you and the case can drag on for years. You can start an eviction and at a later stage approach a lawyer.
Solution:
I have created a short course that will enable any Landlord to do his/her own eviction. There are 3 options. Starting from R2500 to enable you to do everything. If you don't want to do all the running around , it will be R4300. If you able we can start of with a free Zoom meeting.
After doing your own eviction, not only will you have the knowledge but you will also have the documents to use for another case. Don't think your lawyer is going to give you your drafted document to be ammended for a next case.
This course is also not about not making use of a lawyer. It is to know what to use a lawyer for and doing the rest yourself to save 10's of thousands.
